Everything in Airport CEO is deeply simulated and it is your job to make sure it all runs smoothly and with a positive bank account. You will need to build the entire airport from scratch including terminal foundations with floors, walls, doors and items as well as the airport infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aprons and other airport infrastructure. Your objective is to build and manage your airport to perfection by making strategic decisions, designing the optimal airport layout and ultimately making sure that your passengers and airlines are satisfied. You will be held accountable when things go wrong and filthy rich when things go right. Hopefully you won’t run into any problems such as stressed out employee, equipment breakdowns or bad weather which can cause massive delays or even emergency landings. You will have to cater to the passengers by keeping waiting time to a minimum, by having friendly and helpful staff around and by making passengers feel secure, keeping any potential incidents at bay a happy passenger is a spending passenger. You will manage the business perspective of the airport by hiring employees and executives, making deals with airline companies and making sure that ends meet by keeping an eye on budget and resources. You will build the airport’s infrastructure with everything from runways and taxiways, gates and aprons to constructing terminals with check-in, security, restaurants and shops. Unfortunately you can't set the taxiway directions for more advanced routing, but you can always try to manage it by offering the shortest route for arrivals and departures, to keep the traffic one way only.Airport CEO is a tycoon and management game where you take the seat as a CEO of your own airport. Either you'll run short of space to build or you'll get your computer clogged up before congestion occurs. The game doesn't offer so much space for building that you'd really run into problems with congestion (unless building GA airport). In the simpliest design the taxiway should run parallel to the runway and the apron should be placed along the way. In the game there should be always taxiways at both ends of the runway. runway closest to the apron, to avoid delays by arrivals. It may also be necessary to adjust runways according to the traffic - if you have alot more departures than arrivals, then you may want to use the runway with least runway crossings e.g. However in this game you can only assign runway for either departure or arrival, without taking wind into count, so it may be a hassle to keep up with the changes (although in my game the planes always fly land/takeoff eastwards) In such cases it's useful to offset the runways a bit - one runway is a bit ahead of the other. In many cases with parallel runways the departure/arrival changes according to the wind to accommondate the shortest routes. You'll want to have the shortest route for departing and arriving flights.
